2010 ANNUAL GENERAL MEMBERSHIP ASSEMBLY

The Iloilo Economic Development Foundation organized its 3rd General Membership Meeting last May 2010 at the Venue, Smallville Complex, Mandurriao, Iloilo City. Vice Chairman Tony Jon opened the program with some welcome remarks. Chairman Alfonso Uy and President Rex Drilon II gave their respective Executive Reports detailing past activities, expectations and challenges for the members of the Foundation in the ensuing years. For the first time after the 2010 National Elections, newly-elected Governor Arthur Defensor, Sr. graced the meeting and shared about his vision and major projects for the Province of Iloilo. For the City of Iloilo, Mayor-elect Jed Patrick Mabilog was represented by incoming City Administrator, Col. Norlito Bautista.

ILOILO CHINESE NEW YEAR CELEBRATION

The Iloilo Economic Development Foundation supported the celebration of the Chinese New Year Celebration last February 2010 by participating in the foot parade from the Bonifacio Drive to Iznart.

ASIAN DRAGON MAGAZINE PHOTO SHOOT

The City and Provincial Governments, ILEDF and the Iloilo Convention and Visitors Bureau assisted the team from the Asian Dragon Magazine for their Photo Shoot last December 2010 issue which featured the picturesque city streets of Iloilo in the fashion pages of their 2011 January-February issue. This magazine circulates among the prominent Filipino-Chinese Communities in the country 6 times a year.

FLOOD RELIEF DISTRIBUTION

• 100 sacks NFA Rice for the victims through the Jaro Archdiocesan Social Action Center.
• 10 units computer for the Municipality of Pavia through Mayor Arcadio Gorriceta.
• Assisted representatives from Ortigas and Co. in their distribution of relief goods in Barangay Cubay and Kamalig and Barangays in Cabatuan, Iloilo.
• Extended financial Assistance to members of the Ilonggo Producers Association and beneficiaries of the Jaro Archdiocesan Social Action Center.
• Provided financial assistance for the purchase of construction materials for the parishioners of Sta. Barbara through the Parish Office.

LIVELIHOOD ASSISTANCE TO THE VENDORS OF THE JARO PUBLIC MARKET. Signing of the Memoradum Of Agreement between the Metrobank Foundation, Iloilo Economic Development Foundation and Taytay Sang Kauswagan for the livelihood component of the Rehabilitation Project in the Jaro Public Market. Metrobank Foundation donated P500,000.00 as micro-financing opportunity for Jaro Public Market vendors. Taytay Sang Kauswagan, provided an additional P1,500,000.00 to the project, and will be the general administrator of loan window. Metrobank Foundation was represented by GBPC President Jess Alcordo, VP for Operations, Arman Lapus and Metrobank Managers, Hansen Tiu and Joyce Lim.
